Developing Namibia’s Green Hydrogen Roadmap & Strategy to the year 2050 in collaboration with Mckinsey & Company
McKinsey & Co and Monasa JV developed Namibia’s Green Hydrogen & Derivatives Strategy. Monasa has been contracted to: undertake the potential socio-economic impact of the U$30 billion GH2 industry in Namibia; engage private and public sector stakeholders ; .size the expected domestic hydrogen demand and the potential role of hydrogen in supporting Namibia’s development and decarbonization objectives; Review Namibia’s development and climate goals/plans and how an increase in domestic hydrogen use could help deliver them.

The initiative aims to assist private sector investors by generating country-level data and insights about SDG-enabling investment opportunities in Namibia.

Impact Assessment of GIPF’s Unlisted Investment to the Namibian Economy
Monasa commissioned to undertake a study and develop a report on the Socio-Economic Impact of GIPF’s (N$5,5billion) unlisted investments in Namibia. The study covered all regions in Namibia were GIPF has invested in portfolio companies including projects covering a range of sectors including: manufacturing, agriculture, renewable energy, fishing and housing.
The GIPF as a signatory to the United Nations Principles of Responsible Investment (UNPRI) also required the study to assess the implementation Environment, Social, Governance (ESG) across the investment portfolio of the GIPF.

Impact Assessment of Old Mutual Foundation Namibia CSR spend over last 10 years (2009-2019)
Monasa & Alternative Prosperity commissioned by Old Mutual Namibia to conduct research and impact assessment of all Old Mutual Foundation (OMF) Namibia’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. OMF is Old Mutual Namibia’s corporate social investment vehicle funded by a 1% of the organisation’s after-tax profit allocation annually

National Youth Service Encroacher Bush Biomass Piloting Plant Feasibility Study
Monasa conducted socio-economic assessment, market analysis and financial analysis to determine the feasibility of the project against market demands and industry uptake. The main purpose of the current NILALEG bush encroachment de-bushing is to create conducive environment for the practice of agriculture mainly crop and livestock production for National Youth Service employment creation, training, and poverty reduction. To this effect, NILALEG Project in support of the NYS under the auspices of EIF is to initiate biomass harvesting, processing and production of charcoal, tar and bio char from cleared encroacher bush on its Gemsbok pan farm and surrounding commercial/resettlement farms.

Bankable feasibility study for OMDIS Property Development
Monasa was contracted to conduct a feasibility study to assess the: market; socio-economic factors and carried extensive stakeholder engagements. Monasa’s core focus was to determine what property development within Tourism and Lifestyle Living could contribute to the economic diversification and growth of Oranjemund OMDIS is the established by NAMDEB to transform Oranjemund to thrive beyond the life of mine. As part of successful Town Transformation, the mine wants to shrink their property footprint in town. This brings the opportunity to repurpose some of the buildings, as well as develop greenfield projects.

Feasibility Study for Extreme Bulk Fuel Service – Namibia and Botswana
Monasa conducted a feasibility study to determine the service offering. The feasibility included a market analysis, outlined and interrogated the business model to be executed, provided the management and personnel requirements to undertake the services, unpacked the policy alignment, provided a socio-economic assessment, and provides a risk matrix of potential risks and mitigating measures for all parties to the contract. Monasa conducted a bankable feasibility study that highlighted the salient features of the Monte Christo Decongestion & Road Upgrade to a dual-carriageway from beyond Matshitshi Street to the B1 intersection.

Bankable Feasibility Study for Amazing Kids Private School Ongwediva (Raised N$20 million)
Monasa was contracted by Mrytle Growth Capital to conduct the Bankable Feasibility Study for Development of Amazing Kids Private School satellite school in Ongwediva. The feasibility required extensive socio-economic analysis, needs and assessment and macro-economic analysis for the development of the school.

Monasa was contracted by Ino Harith Capital to conduct the Bankable Feasibility Study for Development of Curro School Gymnasium in Ongwediva. The feasibility required extensive socio-economic analysis, needs and assessment and macro-economic analysis for the development of the school.

Assess the business model of the cleaning and security services provided by the City of Windhoek and determine viability. Provide sustainable recommendations which will inform Councils decision making.

Socio-economic Impact Assessment of Ongos Valley Development
Monasa Conducted the socio-economic impact assessment of Ongos Valley Development by analysing, monitoring the intended and unintended social consequences, both positive and negative, of Ongos Valley Development. The work done assessed the baseline profiling and identifying who will be impacted; direct impacts and flow-on impacts.

Facilitate the Development of FFIs Green Hydrogen market penertration in Namibia.
Monasa assisted Fortescue Future Industries with developing a proposal to facilitate the Development of FFIs Green Hydrogen market penetration in Namibia. Specific tasks included socio-economic assessment.

Transactional advisors
Transactional Advisors for the asset disposal 25% stake in the Namibian Mineworkers Investment Holding Company (NAMMIC) to a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) held directly by 10,000 union members.

Impact of the export levies on the livestock sector/industry of Namibia
The Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Forestry (MAWF) and stakeholders in the livestock sector agreed on a study that should assess the implementation and impact of the Cattle Marketing Scheme. In the light of this, MAWF appointed MONASA as qualified consultants to undertake this assessment and provide policy and strategy recommendation to grow the industry.
